Membership Information
Membership in Merlin Soaring Association allows you access to our current fleet of three gliders, the Schweitzer 2-33 and 1-26 and the Lark IS-28B2 and access to instruction with our CFI-Gs. Members must be checked out in each of the gliders and are required to have an annual check ride with the Chief Instructor.
Membership requires a one time application fee ($250) and ongoing payment of dues. Current dues are $600 per year and may be paid annually, semi-annually or quarterly. Members must maintain membership in the Soaring Society of America (SSA).
Youth memberships are discounted to $100 application fee and $240 annual dues.

Tow FeesTow fees are based on a $20 fixed cost plus a variable cost related to the tow altitude above ground level. Merlin Aerodrome is 230' elevation, so a 2,000' tow would release around 2,230'.
MSA generally tows to an even thousand foot tow, but if you find lift on tow, you may release prior to the target altitude. Tow rates are assessed to the nearest 100'. Tows above 3,000' are available as negotiated with the Officer of the Day. |
