With JD as the day’s Ops Guy (and Ron towing, I launched first at 1:45 and played sniffer. Got off at 3k and well…. plenty of minimal lift and not much else. So after filing a report with MSA ground I proceeded to hang-out until Stefan launched in the LARK.
From 2.6K, I headed up-wind while watching Stefan and the AGWAGON climb out to 3K over Scotts Fork to my right. I watched Stefan release and the day was on. I found lift and once I centered the thermal, called the LARK. Stefan reported he was climbing at 2k and all was well…almost!
So what about Greg in the newly ruddered 1-26? He launched and within 15 minutes or so the 3 of us were hanging and climbing in the same thermal. From my vantage point in my 19…well, I looked down to see Stefan below me a bit and Greg hanging out a bit further below Stefan. A very nice site indeed!!!
Greg did an hour. Stefan an hour and a half and I did 2 and half. A very nice day that actually got better as it progressed and resulted in a nice bit of flying for all!
